LIEGE - ROME - LIEGE IS 75 YEARS OLD!
To celebrate the 75th birthday of this world famous event and monument to motorsport history the Organisers of the 2005 Liege -Rome -Liege Historic Rally invite you who have dreamed of taking part in this event to share the celebrations. As part of these celebrations the eligibility of cars is, for this year only, extended to cars up to 25 years old, thus allowing cars that until now have been ineligible to take part in this prestigous event.
Travelling 1200 kilometeres in four days through the most beautiful of Alpine landscapes, driving on historic rally roads and over spectacular mountain passes will excite all those who make this adventure.

LIEGE ROME LIEGE CLASSIC CAR RALLY 20th to 24th JUNE 2005
Hailed as the "BEST HISTORIC RALLY" the legendary "LIEGE-ROME-LIEGE" presents a 'new' face for the 2005 edition.
To celebrate the 75th anniversary of this famous event several innovations are included in this year's programme.
The first day will start at the summit of the famous Passo Stelvio with a spectacular evening stage. Already there are crews from more than 15 countries anticipating the excitement of such a moment.
This gathering of "Gentleman" drivers is open to all, and will enable entrants to re-live this renowned event as a tribute to motorsport history.
There are already several "lady" crews in this years event and they will remember the famous outright victory, in 1960, of Pat Moss (sister to Stirling) and AnnWisdom.

Liege Rome Liege rally
To commemorate the 75th Anniversary of the famous 'LIEGE' race, the historical version of this event is introducing new innovations for the 2005 edition.
The start flag will be dropped at the summit of the famous "Passo Stelvio", at 2758 metres the highest pass in Europe.
Even two months before the start of the Rally the entry list is impressive. One reason for this is the decision of the Organisers to open the entry to more recent cars.
All the famous marques from Germany, Italy and France are present, but the largest contingent is from Britain, as was the case in days gone by!
Imagine if you can, in 1933, the sight of the first all female crew of Miss Laboushere and Miss Coles in their SINGER ,972cc four cyclinder car leaving Roma completely covered in flowers laid over the car by the enthusiastic locals. This at a period in history when to see a lady at the wheel of a car in Italy was a rare event.
How times have changed!

The Rally Liege Rome Liege is 75 years old.
To celebrate the 75th anniversary of the rally Liege Rome Liege, a special edition will take place from June 20 to June 24, 2005
The route will pass through Italian and Slovenian passes which made the legend of this rally during the last century.
The archives of the rally show that some passes have not been used by the organizers since 1955, 1956 and 1958 during the rallies' first entry into Yugoslavia.
For this anniversary, and only for 2005, cars after 1960 also will be eligible on invitation to supplement the prewar cars and pre 1960 cars normally accepted for this event, a unique opportunity that owners of TR4's, E type etc... will not let pass.
And this is not the only new feature for this unique edition. The start of the rally will be at the summit of Europe, the Stelvio pass 2758m high, and at sunset to increase the dramatic atmosphere and revive the unforgettable moments of this rally in the past. The finish and the prize giving gala diner will take place in the evening of Thursday June 24 on a private beach at Portorose.
